Customer Testimonials: Heal & Mutter Families, Northern WA
Northern Western Australian growers Jim Heal and Kade Mutter experienced the benefits of Geringhoff’s latest header front designs during the recent harvest – and both were impressed by the performance.
For Jim, based in Three Springs, the Geringhoff front proved it could cut significantly lower than his existing Case IH Vari-Cut front and follow the land contour with precision. With 4000 hectares of wheat, canola, and lupins on undulating country, he trialled the TruFlex Razor model on his Case IH 7240 header and immediately noticed better ground following and reduced seed loss, especially in thin lupins.
Further north, Kade Mutter put the same header front to work across wheat crops in crabhole country. With two Case IH 9240 headers and one 8240 in their operation, Kade said the flexing wings of the Geringhoff front were a “real eye-opener”, and combining the flex draper with the integrated air system ensured a clean cut with minimal loss.

We trialled it in lupins and it cut significantly lower than the Vari-Cut front. The air system is a good innovation, and we saw reduced seed losses.
Jim Heal

Built with Australian conditions in mind, the new Geringhoff fronts are available in several configurations to suit all crop types and harvest styles: Flex (rigid frame, flexible cutterbar), TruFlex (three-section frame, rigid cutterbar), and TruFlex Razor (three-section frame with rigid and flexible cutterbar). The frames act independently across their width, allowing better ground contouring, while the optional air system guides the crop onto the belts, minimising loss.
The sensors work better with the Geringhoff and it reacts quicker,” Jim added. “The header doesn’t bulldoze the sandplain, even when cutting very low.
Meanwhile, Kade sees the Geringhoff front as a pathway to simplifying harvest operations.
We’ve used tin fronts and strippers, but the idea of switching to one header front type for all our crops is appealing.
Kade Mutter

With increased capacity, precise ground following, and seamless feeding into high-capacity combines, the Geringhoff header fronts are turning heads across WA.
We just sat back and watched it, it was that good. For us, it’s a big step forward in efficiency and ease.

“It is much quicker and easier because there are no bottlenecks anywhere in the chain. With a bin of this size, 50t only looks like a drop in the bottom of it.”

“The draper front combined with the air makes for a clean cut and gets it into the header quick. It was awesome through the crabhole country, we didn’t have to touch a button.”

Customer Testimonial: Caleb Austin, Moree, NSW
“We were cutting the canola high and it was great. We also had a lot of lodged barley that we were picking off the ground and we just ran it in hinge flex mode (with rigid cutterbar). It followed the ground better and there was less dirt getting in the front than our other fronts.”
