Helios Duo Sub-Soiler
The Helios Duo is a mounted sub-soiler that provides soil restructuring solution that eliminates the results of extreme climate conditions and ground compaction, and loosens the soil without disturbing the soil horizon. With surface loosening (10 to 25 cm) the Helios Duo enables preparation for root implantation without disrupting the surface and pushing fine soil down.

The Helios Duo is equipped with a Michel blade which allows you to open up the sub-soil and enable roots to find an optimal exploration area without mixing the soil layers.
This keeps any organic matter or residues on the surface which provides a good support to the soil.

Soil Loosening Without Disturbance to the Horizon
The Helios has been tested in different parts of the world, in all types of soil and crops, and has been proven to be a strong, reliable piece of machinery for soil restructuring.
The Helios Duo chassis has large spacing between the tine rows as well as between the tines themselves.
This enables soil loosening in paddocks with large volumes of plant residue without any clogging and improves efficiency.
The Helios parts have been studied to ensure high performance with good penetration, reduced fuel consumption, and also proper wear of the working parts.
Depending on your soil, Grégoire Besson offers different parts.
- For clayish or chalky soils, forged parts are most suitable
- For sandy or abrasive soils, a range of carbide points and wings are offered to increase the parts operating life
The hydraulic safety allows the tines to retract when it meets a foreign body. Adjustable and very flexible, the hydraulic safety can withstand a 525 kg maximum load.
Tip resistance is adjustable using the nitrogen compression in the reservoir. Depending on the soil type to loosen, you can also adjust the safety activation.
Reinforced hydraulics are offered for semi-mounted equipment. As tractor power is higher for semi-mounted models, a brake back is offered for safety.
The Helios Duo has been designed for simple transport and storage, and folds to limit overall size.
Numerous roller options are available and adapted for each finish.
- Twin double roller: with wavy discs to slice the surface layer and residues to create openings for improved air circulation and water flow.
- Square bar roller: economic solution that is aggressive on plant residues, to create a uniform mulch and accelerate stubble disintegration whilst maintaining a good level of moisture in the soil.
- Double notched disc: the roller slices and slightly levels whilst giving more lift to the soil.
For light soils, optional stabilising wheels to maintain correct depth can be added at the front of the machine.

The Michel tine on the Helios Duo is designed to crack the soil without disturbing the surface to create a vague effect on the surface layer.
This allows for more water and air infiltration into the soil to promote root development of the crop to be planted.

Wide Under Beam Clearance
The Helios Duo under beam clearance is 850mm to work at various depths without any clogging and ease the way through large volumes of plant residues.
The roller is coupled to the machine via a 3-point linkage is hydraulically adjustable to set the working depth, or can be uncoupled if necessary.
