Clinton Tiller at Tiller Ag Group recently took ownership of a new Agri-Spread AS2150T and is comfortably spreading urea at 100kg.
Farming on 4,000 acres 25km East of Gnowangerup in WA for just under 2 years, the farm is a cropping enterprise of wheat, canola, barley, and safflower. Prior to his move to WA, Clinton operated a 10,000-acre family farm in SA for 30 years. The move to WA was Clinton’s idea as an expansion and succession strategy, for the whole family’s farming enterprise. He continues to operate the new WA operation with his wife Emma and their four children.
Clinton explained that a spreading program had been in place at the farm in SA, but once they made the move across the border more capacity was required.

Coming from a trailing spreader in our SA farm, more capacity was needed as well as the ability to spread lime. Emma and myself saw the Agri-Spread a few years ago at a field day event in Cleve in South Australia, and I have kept my eye on their progress since.

The AS2150T is a tandem axle spreader which sits on a 3m axle with steerable rear axle and has a capacity of 15m3 / 17T of fertiliser. Having only used the new spreader for just over 4 weeks, Clinton says he is already seeing some benefits.
For our expanding operation the capacity is a big plus. Also, the tandem sprung axles with rear steering axle is great in rougher paddocks and does not chew up the paddock on tight corners.
It is a well built and finished machine. Calibration was easy and it keeps on working with no trouble at all. The spread pattern is great, with total tones used on the screen the same as the tones you put in the fertiliser shed so that’s always a good sign!
Clinton added that he would recommend the Agri-Spread spreader to other farmers and had a positive machine start-up experience, “I would recommend this spreader. The start-up of the machine was good, and the time was taken to get the spread pattern right. An in-depth walk-around the machine with people that know what they are talking about, made it easy to understand how the spreader worked.”
